Search For The Feathered Serpent

The third book of the Crystal Mission trilogy: I began this book with a story from my early 20s when I took several years off medical school and circum-navigated the planet. Within a couple of weeks of leaving New Zealand I found myself in a Mexican Penitentiary on the border town of Calexico/Mexicali for about 10 days. The kind treatment given to me by the Mexican authorities – even extending to some trickery arranging for me to get back across the border into California – left me with a soft spot for Mexico and Mexicans, which in the end resulted in me returning to Mexico many times.

The central mission in the Crystal Mission was a journey to Palenque, Chiapas for the total solar eclipse of July 11, 1991, which is reviewed in summary in this book, and then two years later the central story in this book is a guided tour to Mexico for a group of kiwis in 1993. The stimulus to arrange this journey came from Wendy Brown who wanted to do a WB Adventure to Mexico – however only 7 people signed up which allowed a WB Adventure without WB, much to her chagrin.

Like in TOTH, the story at the heart of the book was a story of green stones from te waka a Maui the South Island of New Zealand going to the indigenous tribes of America, this time Mexico. For a while it looked like Barry and Maru might again join the journey to make it a Waitaha long tide, but shortly before departure the stones turned up in the mail sent by Barry Brailsford. On reaching Mexico City International Airport, the whole group knew that magic was happening when we were met by Choctaw guide Alan Leon’s smiling face, and indeed the journey that resulted could only be described as a Journey into the Great Mystery.

In SFS, as in TOTH with the great circle of North American Tribes, this journey to the tribes of Mexico, not by any volition on the part of me or anybody else on the ground, fell inside an eclipse cycle. Then in the journey of research and discovery writing the book on return, some more glimpses were received of the meaning of the map given to me during the Crystal Mission by an old Maori tohunga with the name of Rapana Hemi, which he said was his travelling map with which he travelled out of his body. As time went by it was also understood by mysterious and timely clues to be ‘a map for the transformation of the planet’. Specifically, this related to the meanings and powers of eclipse cycles, and how this related to ‘Ngaroma, the Goddess of the moon’ ruling the seasons and tides.

Those who decide to read through the 14 books will find increasing understanding of how this map, with its motivating and revolving force being “Love is Forgiveness’ is actually not only a cabalistic formula, but also something similar to The Tibetan Rainbow body presented by William Henry, which has at its core the concept of ‘Compassion in Action’. There were some more illuminations gathered in Books 63 and 64, the Bahá’í Spiritual journey books, in which this map again surfaced to shed some light on the discovery of the ‘Merkaba’, spirit flying vehicle, with which we could find ‘the wings of our souls’, and the realisation that some very ancient knowledge and wisdom had been hidden and concealed with the Polynesian tribes in the Pacific triangle from the Hawaiians in the north east to the Maori in the deep south west.

The original SFS printed in New Zealand in 2000 contained my first discoveries about the Bahá’í Faith and its role in the future unification of the planet, specifically with some input from a lady by the name of Jan Simpson Maat Deveney, who would become a close friend and mentor in years to come. The 2021 edition has been enriched with lots more illumination on these early discoveries after 21 more years of research and deepening into the Bahá’í Faith, and at the end of the Search for the Feathered Serpent a huge new understanding of exactly what is a ‘feathered serpent; or a ‘plumed serpent’.
